Working in collaboration with the UK based Home Lift company Stiltz, who were developing their new contemporary premium home lift system to be sold across continental Europe. Our brief was to design a premium Car Operating Panel (C.O.P.) and remote control unit. This required a thoughtful approach to rethinking the lift interface, maintaining the new lift design language, adding a premium look and feel but ensuring the inclusive design thinking for older generations to use.
The remote buttons are elevated from the main body and utilise high contrasting graphics to improve usability and comfort for an inclusive design solution. Retaining the use of 3 x AAA batteries also provides a simple change over when they expire. The C.O.P. interface is comprised of a single moulded insert with an anodised aluminium surface for a premium finish. Warning LED lights are situated around the perimeter of the oblong shape, the relative seriousness of the warning lights is communicated through colours – Yellow to Amber to Red.
